Marilyn Zeringue retired May 2, 2022 after twenty years of service at the Ascension Parish Assessor’s Office. Marilyn started off her career in banking. She worked at State Bank in Donaldsonville, LA which later became Hibernia National Bank, for a total of twelve years. She was offered the opportunity to come onboard at the Assessor’s Office in May, 2002, the beginning of her twenty year career in public service. Marilyn served under four Assessors, the last nine years under the leadership of current Assessor M.J. “Mert” Smiley.
